Following the coast longer than 30 km, the Elaphite Islands are an archipelago, the biggest islands of which are Lopud, Šipan and Jakljan. They form a natural rampart that protects Trsteno. At a 30 minute walking distance from the coast, the highest peak of Šipan offers a spectacular panoramic view of the coast and many islands and islets in the surroundings. On this island there are also many ancient ruins that are still visible.

There is a botanical garden on the coast, in front of this archipelago, which offers a maze of paths in a shade with extraordinary vegetation that edges the Mediterranean.
